Audio description of "Lend a Hand"
Transcript
This artwork installation is composed of two separate elements. The first is a freestanding display case with a white painted base and a clear acrylic cover. Inside there is mounted on a tall wooden armature a leather work glove painted with a scenic landscape of the North Atlantic coastline. The second element of this installation is a photograph in a white painted frame that hangs on the wall directly above and behind the display case. In this photograph, the same painted leather glove appears on a right arm that emerges from below the frame so that the coastal scenery painted on it matches, blends and fully mirrors the real-life wintery coastline behind it.
The scene captured in both the photograph and glove painting features a vast, gray overcast sky. Icy ocean waters in the middle left meet a turbulent, rocky shoreline on the right. The coastline skirts back around to the center horizon with dense evergreen trees sprouting toward the top of the frame.
