Mickey Wright - Volunteer
Transcript
My name is Mickey Wright. I volunteer at Capitol Reef National Park as their computer support person. And I discovered Capitol Reef many years ago. My wife and I were out learning all about Southern Utah. And on our way back home to Salt Lake, we said, Oh, let's drive-through this Capitol Reef National Park Place and see what it's about.
And we just absolutely fell in love and said, we were going to come back here, and we did. And we kept coming back and coming back until we finally said, this is where we're going to retire to. And we were able to do that a few years ago. And I immediately volunteered at the park as doing the computer work and helping out. And I've enjoyed it immensely.
I love Capitol Reef because of the history of the park, the geology. The history comes from dinosaurs to the pioneers, the ancestral Puebloan, Fremont, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and just all kinds of wonderful history. Working with the individuals here, I get to learn about the geology, biology of the park. And just absolutely enjoy the people, and it's a lot of fun, and have a great time.
