Workforce Focus - Agricultural and Livestock Program Coordinator

George Washington Birthplace National Monument

Transcript

Andrew Therrien: Hi all, I am Andrew. I work here at George Washington's Birthplace National Monument in Colonial Beach. This little horse man next to me right here is Trooper. He's getting a little rambunctious. He is our, one of our parks, equine animals. He's a retired Capitol Police horse, and he's not so police officer acting like right now, hahaha. Here at the park, we have many animals. My sole responsibility is to take care of the animals. Also, do some gardening. We have, three different types of garden beds here at the park. Everything from your crops to flowers to colonial, style gardens. I have been with the park service going on about five years now. Before that, I was a veteran, and I served nine years in the United States Marine Corps.
