Museum Curator Introduction

Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park

Transcript

Hello, my name is Julia and I'm the museum curator at Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. People often ask me, "what does a museum curator do?" A curator is the keeper of museum objects. We ensure that historical objects are preserved and displayed for research, education, and public enjoyment. Here at the park, we have artifacts from the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World War I and World War II. All of the objects in our museum collection provide a deeper insight into what life was like for the individuals who preceded us. Over the next few months, we will be exploring some of the objects in our museum collection and will be sharing photographs of these objects with you through our social media platforms. We will also be sharing the stories and narratives behind these objects, which makes each of them a unique part of our history and creates a tangible link to our past. Be sure to tune in as we delve deeper into our museum collection and learn more about the artifacts hidden within. We look forward to sharing the collection with you. Thank you and we'll be seeing you soon!
