Lowell: An Industrial Classroom

Located in the historic Boott Cotton Mills, the Tsongas Industrial History Center is a partnership between the University of Massachusetts Lowell and Lowell National Historical Park. In our programs, students and educators "do history," by weaving, working on an assembly line, or role-playing immigrants, and "do science," by design and building simple machines, testing water wheels, or measuring water quality. The Center also offers professional development and curriculum materials.
