The maintenance division provides a vital role in the park. Large equipment as the two shown enable the park to complete jobs that would otherwise go undone. The tractor with the attachable sidearm would enable the maintenence division to bushhog roadsides and ditches. The tractor could also be used for grading roads and bushhogging other areas in the Preserve.
We recycle broken branches and other fallen debris in the park using a wood chipper. Our current wood chipper has reached the end of its lifecycle and needs to be replaced. Chipping downed trees helps to reduce hazardous fuels while enhancing the aesthetics of the visitor use areas. The mulch is used on landscaping and trails.
