On Thursday, June 23, educators, pre-service teachers, naturalists, interpreters, scout leaders, youth leaders, home schooling parents, and anyone working with middle and high school aged youth are invited to enjoy a day-long workshop investigating educational activities dealing with water quality! This session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be held at the Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.

The workshop will include activities from the Healthy Water Healthy People Curriculum, the debut of a newly developed travelling trunk on water quality, and hands-on training with real monitoring equipment.  During the workshop, participants will explore hands-on activities focused on water quality that can be utilized back in their home classroom or watershed with the youth they work with. Educators completing the workshop will receive a copy of the Healthy Water Healthy People Curriculum, and will be eligible to borrow both the travelling trunk and the monitoring equipment for use with their respective youth during the school year!  There is a $35 workshop fee, pre-registration is required, and registration is limited. To register, visit http://duneslearingcenter.givezooks.com/events/investigating-water-quality-a-workshop-for-educators or call 219-395-9555 beforeJune 17.
