Indiana Dunes National Park follows 36 CFR § 2.1: collecting, disturbing, or possessing natural resources (plants, wildlife, mineral and paleontological specimens, etc.) is strictly prohibited—unless expressly allowed by park compendium or permit.
Flowers, Plants & Vegetation

No picking or removing living or dead plant materials—including flowers, leaves, seeds, mushrooms—under § 2.1(a)(1)(ii).

Cutting, breaking, or damaging vegetation (including driftwood still rooted in dunes) is not permitted.
Fish & Aquatic Life

Recreational fishing is allowed in designated waters with valid Indiana state licenses, adhering to size and possession limits.

Collecting fish, frogs, crayfish, aquatic plants, algae, or other organisms for any other use is prohibited under § 2.1(a)(1)(i).
Wood Gathering

Wildlife & Animal Parts

Wildlife observation is encouraged, but feeding, harassing, or approaching animals is illegal.

Removing or disturbing wildlife, including feathers, bones, antlers, nests, eggs, insects, or invertebrates, is forbidden under § 2.1(a)(1)(i).
Fruits, Nuts & Berries

Up to a handful of fruits, nuts, or berries may be collected—for personal use only—per § 2.1(c)(1), if determined to be non-harmful to wildlife or plant reproductive capacity.
