Indiana Dunes National Park is looking for 4 young people aged 15-18, to participate in the National Park Service Youth Conservation Corps (YCC). Employment will be for ten weeks, beginning May 31, 2026, and ending on August 8, 2026, at a rate of $12.00 per hour during a 40-hour work week. The ProgramThe Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) is a well-balanced work-learn-earn program that develops an understanding and appreciation of the Nation's environment and heritage in participating youth. Administered by the National Park Service, the program offers gainful summer employment to youth in a healthy outdoor atmosphere. Projects may include building trails, maintaining fences, cleaning up beaches, painting and staining park buildings. Eligibility RequirementsTo be eligible, participants must be between 15 through 18 years of age during the program term (May 31, 2026 to August 8, 2026) who are permanent residents of the United States. Youth with disabilities who can effectively participate in most YCC activities are eligible. Youth must have no history of serious criminal or other anti-social behavior that might endanger their safety or that of others, have or be able to obtain a work permit, and have a Social Security number or have applied for one.
