Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore offers no-hassle volunteering through its drop-in program. Just show up—we provide gear and training on site. Opportunities are available throughout the month; simply stop by any of these locations during drop-in hours to get started!

  • Where: 618 N Mineral Springs Rd, Porter, IN 46304
  • When: Every 3rd Saturday of the month, 9am-12pm
  • What: Assist in various programs around the park, including stewardship projects and helping out at the historic Chellberg Farm.

  • Where: 100 N Lake St, Gary, IN 46403
  • When: Saturdays & Sundays, June 23-August 19, 10am-12pm
  • What: Help us restore this special area to an oakland savannah habitat that can sustain wildflowers, birds, and pollinators. Volunteers will help remove invasive plants, trim down overgrowth, and monitor recovery. Check the park calendar for more details.
