- Plan Your Route: many of our sites may be difficult to find, and GPS is not always available. Make sure you know how to get somewhere, even without a GPS.
- Stay Supplied: Many sites are far away from population centers. Before heading to a rural area, make sure you have enough gasoline, food, and water to get back to a service station.
- Check the Weather: A storm or snow may lead to blocked roads, or dangerous driving conditions. Make sure you have a plan for bad weather.
- Dress Appropriately: If you plan on hiking, make sure you wear long pants, a comfortable shirt, sunglasses, strong boots, and sunscreen.
