George Washington Memorial Parkway has a vast museum collection of over 400,000 cultural and natural artifacts from all of our sites. These objects have been thoroughly cared for so that future generations may learn from them. We can use these conserved objects to take a snapshot look at various points of history and put them together to tell larger American stories. As part of the celebration of the 250th signing of the Declaration of Independence, we highlight 250 museum objects from Arlington House, the Robert E. Lee Memorial, Clara Barton National Historic Site, Fort Hunt Park, Glen Echo Park, and other sites along the Parkway. Explore these albums to learn about the lives of people who were here before us (or are still here) through the objects, documents, specimens, and photographs they interacted with often on a daily basis. |
