On August 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time the following National Park Service (NPS) areas will be closed to vehicle traffic.
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 1.5, the National Park Service (NPS) is imposing a temporary closure of, and public use limit in, certain designated parklands at the National Mall and Memorial Parks, George Washington Memorial Parkway, and National Capital Parks-East to accommodate filming in preparation for the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, as delineated in the maps below. Closures will be lifted as soon as they are no longer necessary, restoring access to the public as soon as practicable. Violation is prohibited. The USPP has determined it necessary to temporarily close the following locations:
Between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
Between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
