Advancing Our Mission through Sustainable Operations

Green Parks Plan

MGP Videos

The Sustainable Operations and Climate Change (SOCC) Branch of the Park Facility Management (PFMD) division sponsored the second NPS My Green Parks Video Contest in 2012.

The contest encourages parks, regions and programs to develop a short video sharing their “green” accomplishments.

Since 2011, we have had twenty-six National Park Service (NPS) entities including parks, programs and regional offices participate in the MGP Video Contest"  This year’s videos were evaluated based on three criteria, including (1) quality and innovation of the project, (2) community and /or partner engagement, and (3) interpretation of these projects to our visitors.

Winning videos are featured below. Videos will also be used at workshops, conferences, on park websites, public websites and the soon to be released My Green Parks intranet site. These videos will help educate the public and other NPS staff about what they can do to contribute to our conservation mission by integrating sustainability into their daily lives or park operations.
