Homeschool Field Day at the Spangler Farm Hospital
Friday, March 12, 2027 – 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
(Inclement weather date: Friday, March 19, 2027)
Time-travel with your family to the George Spangler Farm as it becomes the 11th Corps Hospital on July 1, 1863. Each student will receive an identity card of a real person connected to the farm, and will discover the full story as they rotate through four learning stations. The learning stations include: Family Farm; 11th Corps Soldiers; Wounded in Battle; and Doctors and Nurses. Then, families will receive a Field Hospital Scavenger Hunt self-guided activity that they can return to the Visitor Center for a special certificate. Due to limited capacity, registration is required.
Registration will open soon.
Note: Recommended for children ages 8-14. If you have children below age 5, please find alternative plans for them. Also, we can accept a maximum of 50 students per session. A waiting list will be maintained for reservation requests after that. Thank you!
Note: All Programs and Procedures are subject to change.
