Bicycling is a great way to see Gateway National Recreation Area. There are multi-use paths and greenways in all three units of the park. Class 1 and Class 2 E-bikes are also allowed on routes open to traditional bicycles throughout Gateway.

Bikes are not allowed in undeveloped areas, such as beaches, or the East Pond or West Pond loops of the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.
