Jamaica Bay Wildlife Cruise

When You Hear the Words Cruise, Jamaica, Bay, Sunsets, Wildlife, Amazing, Scenery, …What Comes to Mind?

Does New York City come to mind? Well, it should! That’s because all those things can be seen and experienced on a Jamaica Bay Ecology Cruise, right here in New York City’s amazing backyard at Gateway National Recreation Area.

This summer you have two choices for when you can take a Jamaica Bay Ecology Cruise:

  • Thursday August 14th - 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday August 17th - 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Cost $6 Boats depart from Riis Landing, Beach Channel Drive, Rockaway.

These leisurely afternoon and sunset boat cruises will explore the ecology and history of Jamaica Bay. With a park ranger as your guide, visit dynamic backwater marshes where you can view egrets, herons, osprey, and a host of other birds. You will also learn how people have and continue to shape the nature of the bay.
