A Kite's Eye View - July and August Programs

The Program is on! Join us, today, August 19th from 1-4 PM. Come to the Visitors Center.

See what a kite can see! Discover the National Parks of New York Harbor from the air! With park rangers, fly kites with cameras attached to take aerial photography. See how the land has changed over time by comparing your photos with historic aerial photographs taken in the 1920s. You can see your photos immediately after flying the kite. National Park Service staff will send you your photographs after your visit.

Print our program flyer.

This program is free, but requires the right weather conditions. For information and reservations, please visit www.nps.gov/gate

Safety message: don’t try to be another Ben Frankin! Kites should never be flown when bad weather threatens. Lack of wind can also make kite flying difficult or impossible.
