Gateway National Recreation Area is seeking a Lessee to provide high quality food and non-alcoholic beverage services within a designated area of the Gunnison Beach Center, also known as Beach Area G. The Lessee will be required to repair and maintain the premises identified herein to meet NPS standards at the Gunnison Beach Center. The NPS is seeking operators who can offer a diverse menu with healthy options at multiple price points and provides a level of service that attracts a wide range of beach goers, and better serves the surrounding community.
This goal is part of the NPS’s continued support providing amenities and for creating a quality destination within the park. Applicants must have experience operating food and beverage facilities in or around a park or beach setting. The Gunnison Beach Center is part of the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway. During summers, Sandy Hook is typically a destination for over two million visitors. Historic annual visitation figures are public and available to review here https://irma.nps.gov/Stats/Reports/Park. Sandy Hook offers additional special events throughout the season. There are several other special permitted events such as half marathons, bike races, and cooperator-run events throughout the season. Standard amenities at beach locations include public bathrooms, showers, and vending machines.
Proposals are due by Monday, March 6, 2023 at 1 pm. Proposals should be submitted electronically to gateway_BMD@nps.gov. The subject line should include the following: Proposal – Gunnison Beach Center RFP 2023. Please note, electronic submission of proposals will not have been deemed received until NPS issues a written response acknowledging receipt.
