Temporary exhibit opens at Fire Island National Seashore’s William Floyd Estate

Patchogue, NY – On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the Old Mastic House at the William Floyd Estate will open for a limited duration exhibit highlighting various aspects of life on the Estate and recent rehabilitation work.

The exhibit will be open from August 16, 2025 to September 27, 2025 and is viewable on Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. The grounds of the Estate are open daily from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.

The William Floyd Estate, which was authorized as an addition to Fire Island National Seashore, is in Mastic Beach on the mainland of Long Island. William Floyd was one of four New York signers of the Declaration of Independence. Eight generations of the Floyd Family lived at the Estate from the early 1700s until the 1970s.

The Estate grounds are open early-May to late-November from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and include 12 outbuildings, the family cemetery, and 613 acres of forest, fields, marsh, and trails.
