Mt. Rainier National Park Centennial

The first woman to climb Mt. Rainier was Faye Fuller in 1890. Shown here in this quilt is a pair of boy's boots she wore for the ascent as there were no women's sizes in outdoor foot gear. She donated these shoes to the Washington historical society after her successful climb.
