Globe Tavern

The newlyweds moved into a rooming house known as the Globe Tavern in downtown Springfield. Their first son, Robert Todd Lincoln, was born in the Globe on August 1, 1843.

Robert was the only one of their sons who lived beyond the age of eighteen.
