A Doubled-edged Threat

Scroll to learn more

The glaciers at Kenai Fjords National Park show the impacts of climate change. Over the past 100 years scientists have seen a dramatic retreat of the glaciers in the park through their camera lens. Many glaciers have receded more significantly than expected, due to the rising temperatures across the globe.

A Glacial Trend

Although a few of Alaska’s glaciers are growing, most continue to shrink. Many glaciers at Kenai Fjords National Park are similar to other glaciers in Alaska and world-wide. This global retreat is a reflection of climate change caused by human activities and increased carbon emissions.
