Organized April 4, 1864, from 20th Corps de Afrique Infantry. Garrison duty at Fort Pike, Defences of New Orleans, La., till July, 1864. Pearl River Expedition April 1-10 (Cos. "C," "D," "E" and "F"). Consolidated with 74th United States Colored Troops July 7, 1864.
