Gregg, David M.
- Bio:
- In January 1862 Gregg received his appointment as colonel of the 8th Pennsylvania cavalry. His service in the Peninsula and in the Maryland campaign contributed to his promotion to brigadier general. He served as a division commander at the Battle of Chancellorsville and at the Battle Gettysburg. During the Overland Campaign of 1864, he received recognition for his command. On February 3, 1865, he resigned from service.
