Walcutt, Charles C.

Bio:
In 1861 Walcutt was commissioned a major and appointed to the 46th Ohio Infantry. He first saw action at Shiloh. He served under William T. Sherman from Shiloh until the end of the war. In June 1864 he received a promotion to brigadier general. He was involved at the siege of Vicksburg, the capture of Jackson, the Battle of Chattanooga, the relief of Knoxville, and the Atlanta campaign. In November 1864 during the Battle for Griswoldville, in Georgia, Walcutt was ordered to make a demonstration with his brigade to ascertain the disposition of enemy troops. He was mustered out in 1866.
