Bee, Hamilton P.

In 1861 Bee was elected brigadier general of militia in the state of Texas. He was appointed to the same rank in the Confederate army in March 1862. He served in the command at Brownsville, TX, in the importation of munitions from Europe through Mexico. In 1864, he was appointed for field duty in the Red River campaign. At the end of the war, he retreated into Mexico.
