Holmes, Theophilus H.

Bio:
Holmes resigned from the U.S. Army in April 1861. In June, he was appointed as brigadier general, in command of a brigade at the Battle of First Manassas. In October, he was in command of a division during the Seven Days' campaign. He was later reassigned to the Trans-Mississippi Department and put in command of the District of Arkansas. His last assignment during the war was in command of the North Carolina reserves.
