McCulloch, Henry E.
- Bio:
- Commissioned as colonel of the 1st Texas Mounted Riflemen in April 1861, McCulloch served throughout the state of Texas during the war. In March 1862, he was granted the rank of brigadier general. The only exceptions were his service in the Vicksburg campaign in early 1863 and the Confederate attack of the impenetrable Union fortifications in the battle of Miliken's Bend in June 1863.
