- At the Battle of Roan's Tan Yard, in Missouri in January 1862, Colonel Poindexter and his Confederate force were camped on Silver Creek. On January 8th, detachments from various Union units came together and attacked his encampment. The Union force destroyed the camp to prevent its further use.
