Duty at Brownsville, Texas, and other points in Texas till May, 1864. Mustered out by consolidation with 77th United States Colored Troops May 24, 1864.

Organized at New Orleans, La., September, 1863. Attached to 1st Brigade, 2nd Division, Corps de Afrique, Dept. of the Gulf, to December, 1863. Unattached, 13th Army Corps, Texas, to April, 1864.

Service:
Garrison at Port Hudson till December, 1863. Ordered to Texas and duty at Brownsville and other points till April, 1864. Designation changed to 85th United States Colored Troops April 4, 1864 (which see).
