Regiment lost during service 2 Officers and 49 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 4 Officers and 172 Enlisted men by disease. Total 227.

Moved to Darnestown September 5, thence to Fort Richardson. Defences of Washington, D. C., and duty there till January, 1862. Designation of regiment changed to 1st Conn.
