Parker's Company, South Carolina Light Artillery (Marion Artillery)
- Overview:
- Marion Light Artillery was organized during the summer of 1861. Most of its members were from Marion, South Carolina. It served in the Department of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, and saw action on Morris Island and later on James Island. In September, 1863, the company totalled 39 effectives. During January, 1865, it was assigned to A. Rhett's Brigade and, serving as infantry, ended the war in North Caolina. Captain Edward L. Parker was in command.
