Zimmerman's Battery, Arkansas Light Artillery

Zimmerman's Battery [also called 7th Field Battery] was formed during the late summer of 1864
with men from Blocher's Arkansas Battery. One section served in Colonel A. S. Dobbin's
Brigade in Price's Missouri Expedition, and the other was stationed near Camden, Arkansas.
Later the company was assigned to W. D. Blocher's Battalion of Artillery, Trans-Mississippi
Department, and was at Collinsburg, Louisiana, when the war ended. Captain J. V. Zimmerman
was in command.
Predecessor unit:
Blocher's Battery was formed during the summer of 1862. It served in the Trans-Mississippi Department and saw action at Prairie Grove, Helena, and Bayou Fourche. Later it was broken up, but many of its members joined Zimmerman's Arkansas Battery. The unit was commanded by Captain William D. Blocher. - Soldiers:
