Owen's Battery, Arkansas Light Artillery

Overview:
Owens' Battery [also called Monticello Artillery] was organized during the fall of 1862 with men from Drew County. The company was active in Mississippi and Tennessee, then in the summer of 1864 moved to Mobile Bay, Alabama. Later it was broken up and the men transferred to McCown's-Hubbard's-Thrall's Arkansas Battery. Its captain was James A. Owen.
