Ward's Battery, Alabama Light Artillery

Overview:
Ward's Battery was recruited in Madison County during the spring of 1863 and served at Mobile until April, 1864. It then was assigned to G.S. Storr's Battalion of Artillery, Army of Tennessee, and fought at Kennesaw Mountain and in various battles around Atlanta. In October the company disbanded. Captains S.R. Cruse and John J. Ward were its commanders.
