Montgomery Alabama Light Artillery

Overview:
Montgomery True Blues Light Artillery was formed at Norfolk, Virginia, in January, 1863, with men from Montgomery who had served in the 3rd Alabama Regiment. Sent to North Carolina, the unit saw garrison duty on the coast, then fought at Plymouth and blew up Fort Branch. In 1865 it was involved in the North Carolina Campaign assigned to General Hoke's troops. It totalled 59 men in August, 1863, had 56 present in February, 1864, and disbanded at Ridgeway, North Carolina, in April, 1865. Its captains were W.G. Andrews and Edgar G. Lee.
