24th Battalion, Alabama Cavalry

Overview:
24th Cavalry Battalion was organized in February, 1864, with three companies. It was chiefly composed of youths and served in Wheeler's Cavalry Corps assigned to Hannon's, and then in January, 1865, Hagan's Brigade. The battalion was involved in the Atlanta Campaign, continued to harass the Federals in the Carolinas, and surrendered with the Army of Tennessee. Major Robert B. Snodgrass was in command.
