Programs

  • Tactile objects: All ranger programs strive to engage multiple senses and learning styles, and often include audio components and/or tactile objects.
  • Trails: The trails upon which rangers lead hikes include a variety of terrain from flat, compacted dirt to rocky, steep terrain. Please inquire at the visitor center about specific hikes and current trail conditions.


Exhibits and Signs

Mainland Visitor Center

  • Visitors may borrow an electronic device that plays a simultaneous narrated description of what appears on screen during the park film, "Treasure in the Sea."
  • Narrated descriptions of all exhibits and signs are also available through our NPS Audio Description Tours mobile app. Visitors may download the IPhone version at the App Store. Audio descriptions are also available on our Channel Islands National Park Mobile App available at the App Store and Google Play.
  • Numerous exhibits are tactile throughout the visitor center.
  • A Braille introductory pamphlet is available by request at the visitor center or for download in a Braille Ready Format: Channel Islands Braille Brochure .BRF File


Islands

  • Narrated descriptions of all island exhibits and signs are also available through our NPS Audio Description Tours mobile app. Visitors may download the IPhone version at the App Store. Audio descriptions of all island points of interest are also available on our Channel Islands National Park Mobile App available at the App Store and Google Play.
