Emergency Information and Weapons Policy

Medical Emergencies:

• In case of a first-aid or medical situation, please contact the nearest park employee for assistance.
• If the visitor center is closed, you can call 911 on any cellphone. Emergency calls are permitted on every cellular network, even if you otherwise have no service from your provider.
• Nearest emergency services:
  • Town of Tehachapi (11 miles east)
  • City of Bakersfield (35 miles west)

Weapons and Firearms Policy:

• It is illegal to possess weapons within the monument, including but not limited to:
  • BB guns
  • Pellet guns
  • Paint guns
  • Bow and arrows
  • Slingshots
  • Bear spray and other compressed-gas irritant devices
• Firearms, including concealed-carry weapons, are not allowed inside the visitor center.
