Things To Do
As we await the opening of the Carter G. Woodson Home National Historic Site, the National Park Service is offering walking tours of Dr. Woodson's neighborhood within the Shaw community. For more information on how to book a tour, call (202)673-2402.
The Carter G. Woodson Home National Historic Site is closed to the public pending restoration. There are no regularly scheduled events on-site. You are able to visit the location and see the building façade, but there will be no interpretive activities or Park Ranger presence for the pubic.
During construction, the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House National Historic Site, located at 1318 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, DC 20005, serves as the official visitor center for the Carter G. Woodson Home National Historic Site.
