Park Status

Park roads, parking lots, trails and beaches at Cape Lookout National Seashore, will remain accessible to visitors, but emergency and rescue services will be limited. There will be no NPS-provided visitor services at Cape Lookout National Seashore, including public information, restrooms, trash collection, and facilities and roads maintenance. The Harkers Island Visitor Center will be closed. Special programs, such as the First Day Lighthouse Climb, will not occur during the time of the federal government shutdown.
