Off-Road Vehicle Management Plan
This plan will guide the management decisions which allow the use of vehicles and still protect the wildlife and other resources in the seashore.
On May 23, 2014, the NPS released a Draft Environmental Impact Statement for its Off-Road Vehicle Management Plan for public comment. The public comment period on this draft plan is now complete.
A proposed rule for Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) management has been released and is open for public comment through February 16, 2016. The proposed rule would authorize off-road vehicle use at the Seashore through a permit system and establish operational and vehicle requirements. Comments submitted through the Federal eRulemaking Portal must be entered before midnight (Eastern Daylight Time) on February 16, 2016. Comments submitted by hand-delivery or regular mail must be received by the close of business hours (5 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time) on February 16, 2016. All comments received must include the agency name (National Park Service) and RIN 1024-AE24.
