August 18 – 10:00 a.m. Junior Ranger “Naturalists” will join a park ranger at the visitor center and begin a mile-long hike of the Jack-O-Lantern Branch Heritage Trail. They will observe and learn about different plants and animals that make the park their home and the importance of protecting the park and the environment. Children who participate will be encouraged to wear comfortable shoes that they can get wet and bring a water bottle. There will be an activity that takes place in a shallow portion of Gill’s Creek where Junior Rangers will get their feet wet while observing aquatic life and learning about the importance of clean water. |
