What is your name and job title? Tracy McConner, Contract Specialist for the Denver Service Center Contracting Division.

What experience and education do you have? I have six years of contracting experience, M.A (Master of Arts) Procurement & Acquisition Management, M.S (Master of Science) in Space Systems Operations Management.

What is a typical day like? Typically I prioritize NPS (National Park Service) contracts for award as well as attending project and status update meetings.

What career advice would you give to someone who wants to follow a similar path? Define your career goals in life, and then execute. Get all the experience, education and mentorship to succeed. Always remember, "procrastination pay off now, hard work pays off later."

What is one of the bigger projects you are working on and what about that project might surprise people? I’m working on the removal and rebuilding of the Nauset Light Beach Bathhouse at Cape Cod National Seashore in Massachusetts, that due to winter storm experienced erosion resulting in a loss of 30 feet. People may be surprised that removing and rebuilding this will have a 50+ year sustainable coastal resilience solution.

What are you the most excited about in your new role?  I am most excited about the wealth of NPS knowledge and the resources that surround me and all the national park history.
