Tim Burger, National Park Service Contracting Officer
What was your role in the military and your dates of service?
I am a Marine. I served from 1988-1992 and was an Anti-Tank Missile Technician.
How did you come to work for National Park Service?
I was working at the Contracting Division at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, Rhode Island, daydreaming about the mountains and being a Park Ranger. Being no spring chicken, and not willing to convince my wife I needed to change my career, I sought out a job in Contracting at the National Park Service. I was fortunate enough to be offered a job in the Fall of 2015 and it has been the best experience of my life.
What role do you play in National Park Service today?
I am a Contracting Officer for the Denver Service Center.
