September 2018 Early Detection Newsletter Available

The September 2018 issue of Early Detection News is now available. Brought to you by the Invasive Species Early Detection (ISED) Program, this newsletter has the latest on invasive plants in the Bay Area. September surveys were conducted at Point Reyes National Seashore and Golden Gate National Recreation Area North District. Highlights in this issue include:

  • Extensive stand of reed canary grass and several satellite populations mapped in the vicinity of the historic Drakes Bay Oyster Farm;
  • Small population of Johnson grass re-assesed along Sir Francis Drake Blvd. at the SPAWN headquarters; and
  • Only known population of horehound in the Golden Gate North District and Point Reyes mapped and removed.
