Shikya Lassiter wins prestigious 2018 award for innovation

The National Capital Region (NCR) is proud to announce the national recipient of the 2018 Excellence in Administration and Business Services Award for Excellence in Innovation and Process Improvement – Ms. Shikya Lassiter. Shikya personifies the work ethic and values of the National Park Service. Over the past year, Shikya has led the endeavor to redefine and map the region’s budget processes and organizational structure, combining this effort using her technical abilities to leverage the NPS systems and platforms to mine critical data. Her innovative spirit and determination provided critical data that allowed NCR leadership to make well informed decisions, gain greater clarity on operational costs and begin to identify opportunities for efficiency.

The purpose of the Excellence in Administration and Business Services Awards is to honor the dedicated work of NPS employees serving in business-oriented and administrative positions who play vital roles in our agency's success as well as to commend those who have made exceptional contributions to the NPS while serving in a business or administrative functions.
