Why did you sign up for the LeChee Summer Youth Program at Glen Canyon?

I signed up for the program because I was in it last year; I decided to do so again. Reason being that the locations we would hike, drive and/or meet new people would always be so amazing. Including the amazing staff here too, was hard to have a reason not to sign up again.

What did you find exciting about the program?

Same as last year, to hike, help at the visitor centers and warehouse/HQ.

What was most suprising about your time at Glen Canyon?

That fun and exciting trips were not delayed or hiccups to interrupt (like the Dam Tour).

What was your favorite activities?

To visit areas like Wiregrass Canyon, Pasa Por Aque and Rainbow Bridge (including that it was first time visiting the arch). Including when we went out to go fishing.

How would you explain the LeChee Program to a friend?

How I would explain this program to another person would be the following: “The Glen Canyon National Park recreation youth program is a one and/or two month internship where you go off around accessible areas of Glen Canyon to hike, view and meet new people. Most of their activities are fun and educational, so I would recommend it.”

And finally, if I was given the choice to join the youth group again, I would 100%.

Why did you sign up for the LeChee Summer Youth Program at Glen Canyon?

I joined the program because I wanted to learn more about the area. And to see how it is to work at the National Park Service.

What did you find exciting about the program?

I found the program to be exciting because of all the boat rides and hikes we went on.

What was most suprising about your time at Glen Canyon?

I was really surprised on how many people I see in a day.

What was your favorite activities?

Favorite thing I did was go fishing after hiking to the to Paso Por Aqui. I caught a walleye a smallmouth bass. An then we went to the orchard and got to pick apricots and ate them. We also boated to Rainbow Bridge. We beached the boat and hiked to Rainbow Bridge. I had a feeling of amazement while standing by the bridge.

How would you explain the LeChee Program to a friend?

If I was to explain the program to my friends, I would say it is exciting and fun!
