Lisa Artz Joins Denver Service Center through the Experienced Services Program
What is your name and job title? Lisa Artz Budget Analyst, partner to the National Park Service (NPS) from the Experienced Services Program of the National Older Worker Career Center.
What experience and education do you have? I have a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Metro State University of Denver, and a Master of Business Administration from Regis University. I am also a Certified Public Accountant. I have more than 30 years of experience in business – 23 with government, including at the Department of Defense, the Department of Treasury, and the Department of Energy. I also have 13 years of experience in private industry in the gaming industry.
What made you choose a career in the National Park Service? I retired from the Department of Defense and wanted to help out with the Great American Outdoor Act. I am an avid hiker and lover of the outdoors.
What is a typical day like? Right now as I am so new, there is no such thing as a typical day. Each day brings new experiences and challenges.
What career advice would you give to someone who wants to follow a similar path? Be willing to learn and help where you can.
